## Khắc phục tiếng kêu khó chịu từ card đồ họa!
Một khách hàng mang đến cửa hàng chiếc máy tính HP Pavilion với lỗi phát ra tiếng kêu “rét” kỳ lạ khi khởi động, âm thanh này biến mất khi máy nóng lên. Sau khi xác nhận lời phàn nàn của khách hàng, tôi cho rằng nguyên nhân đến từ quạt tản nhiệt.
Tuy nhiên, sau khi kiểm tra tất cả các quạt có thể nhìn thấy, tôi không phát hiện ra bất kỳ tiếng ồn nào. Tôi thậm chí còn dùng ống nghe sát tai để cố gắng xác định nguồn phát ra âm thanh. Tôi chắc chắn mình đang bỏ sót điều gì đó.
Tôi đã di chuyển ống nghe đến quạt nguồn, nhưng vẫn không nghe thấy tiếng kêu “rét”. Sau một hồi tìm kiếm kỹ lưỡng hơn, tôi đã tìm ra thủ phạm.
Quạt tản nhiệt của card đồ họa chính là nguồn gây ra tiếng kêu khó chịu, và chỉ cần chạm nhẹ ngón tay vào là có thể làm ngừng tiếng kêu đó.
Việc tháo card đồ họa giúp việc tiếp cận quạt dễ dàng hơn.
Sau khi tháo quạt, tôi tháo rời nó bằng cách kéo nhẹ cánh quạt lên.
Sau khi kiểm tra kỹ lưỡng, tôi phát hiện một vết xước nhỏ trên nam châm trường.
Tôi tin rằng điều này có thể là do bụi bẩn tích tụ. Sau khi làm sạch bụi bẩn và mảnh vụn khỏi trục và ổ trục, tôi nhỏ một ít dầu bôi trơn vào ổ trục. Sau khi lắp lại quạt vào trục, quạt quay trở lại trơn tru.
Trước khi lắp lại card đồ họa vào bo mạch chủ, tôi đã thổi sạch toàn bộ máy tính bằng khí nén. Card đồ họa được lắp lại vào khe cắm trên bo mạch chủ. Việc kiểm tra hoạt động của tất cả các quạt cho thấy lỗi đã được khắc phục.
Tôi đã trả lại máy tính cho khách hàng với một nụ cười hài lòng.

A customer brought in a HP Pavillion computer with the complaint of a strange squealing noise on start-up, which eventually disappeared as the computer warmed up. After confirming the customer’s complaint, I believed that it would be from a cooling fan.
However, when I checked all the fans that I could see, I couldn’t detect any noise. I used a hose next to my ear to try and isolate the noise. I was sure I was missing something.
I even moved my hose over to the power supply fan, without hearing any squealing noise. However, after some further searching, I found the culprit.
The graphics card fan was creating a squealing noise but could be quickly stopped by the touch of a finger.
Removing the graphics card made access to the fan easier.
After removal of the fan, it was disassembled by pulling upward on the blade.
After close inspection, a slight scraping mark could be seen on the field magnet.
I believe this might have been due to dust build up. After cleaning dust and debris from the shaft & bushing, a light oil was added to the bush and after refitting the fan to the shaft, the fan was spinning freely.
Before reassembling the graphics card onto the board, I blew out the entire computer with compressed air. The graphics card was now reinstalled back into its slot in the motherboard. Testing the operation of all fans proved that the fault had be rectified.
I handed back the computer to a happy customer.
